I am sitting here at my dining room table looking out at the rain and reflecting on all today means for us. More than Christmas or Easter Sunday, this is the day we reflect on the death of Our Savior. This is the day we reflect on what has been accomplished so that we could have salvation. Our precious Lord and Savior came to this earth to die for you and for me. He came to die. In His death, we have life. In His death, He took all of our sin on His shoulders and became the perfect sacrifice. Jesus felt forsaken, alone, confused, desperate for any other plan that may be able to work. Even in the midst of all those emotions, His love for us prevailed. He endured the scorn and the shame and being forsaken by His Father for our sakes. At church last Sunday, Bill (one of our pastors) was saying that Jesus is more willing to die for us than we are willing to accept his offering. We do not want the deliverance He offers and we enlist Him in our own plans to accomplish what we may be wantin
"And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." -Colossians 3:17
