Christmas Celebrations

We had a truly wonderful Christmas this year! We were able to celebrate with both families this year. We began our family time last week when we went to the Reeses to spend time and exchange gifts. Ryan's parents opening their presents Ryan's new hunting vest Cory and Ashley gave me a Bieber poster!! Grandmama and Granddaddy....how cute!! We went to Manning last Wednesday night and stayed there through the holidays. It was great because my brother, Quin, and his family were there with us, too. All in all, there were 10 of us sleeping at my house in Manning with two nights of 12 people when my nieces and nephews stayed over. I have 6 nieces and nephews ranging from ages 11 to 2....it was pretty wild when we were all together!! Ryan went hunting on Thursday night and got his first deer....ever!! My stepdad was the only one with him and helped him get the deer loaded up to take to get processed. Then, he had to bloody Ryan up because it was his first deer. I have never been

Highlands

As you have probably noticed from the blog, I absolutely adore traditions and things that just happen every year. Ryan and I started having a getaway for Christmas when we were dating. During Christmas the year we were dating, we went and had dinner at the Grove Park Inn at Asheville, NC. The Grove Park Inn is so beautiful at Christmas time and they have all the gingerbread houses from around the world displayed for everyone to marvel at. We also stayed at the Grove Park last year.  This year, we decided to go to Highland, NC and stay at the Old Edwards Inn. Oh man, was it a treat!!! The town of Highlands is precious and we truly felt like royalty. From the beautiful scenery to the champagne they gave us on arrival, it was such a sweet time together.  Here are some pictures of our beautiful amenities... The front entrance when we were driving in....don't you love the decorations?! Another view of the front of the inn This is where we stayed and checked in, The Lodge This was

Sentimental

Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year! I love that the world is celebrating Jesus' birth without even realizing it. I love that it is a time where we are worshipping Christ and His birth. I also love Christmas traditions---like time with family, the Christmas tree and pulling out my decorations.  One of my favorite parts is bringing out all of our Christmas ornaments and thinking about who gave them to us and what they mean to us. This year as I pulled out the ornaments, I took some pictures of my favorite ones to share with all of you! This is a new one this year. Ryan's parents bought it for Scout....I love it! This is our wedding one....I think it is so cute! (Excuse my fingers :)) This one has a match and one of my sweet friends, Mary, gave them to me one year for Christmas This really is my all-time favorite. The first ornament Ryan ever gave me from Asheville, NC. It is hand-blown glass and so beautiful. He acted like I was picking it out for him to gi
