Jam-Packed Weekend O'Fun

R and I had such a fun, full weekend. It really was a blast to spend time with friends and family and to just enjoy things around Greenville. Friday night, we met some friends at an awesome joint called Brown Street Club. We started out with 8, but by the end of the night our crew expanded to 12!! We got drinks on the house because of Elaine and David having connections. We had a great dinner and fun time listening to the jazz being played. We laughed, moved to the music and had some good conversation. Ryan and I were the old people who left first :( We felt bad about it but we were just super tired. The rest of the group went clubbing and stayed out until 2 am!!! Here are some pictures of the occasion: Nathan and Ryan thought this was a "good" look....not too sure about that... Being suave.. Cute friend and a baby

I am not sure if I have made the announcement on the blog, but I currently have a little more time on my hands. I moved from working full time to as needed at work so that I can focus on trying to find another job as quickly as possible and have more availability. I was feeling very overwhelmed and was in major need for a quick retreat and some time away from the house and Sally suggested we meet up at Commerce. Commerce has some outlets and places to eat, but the best part is that is about 1 hour for both Sally and myself and makes for an easy day trip. So, Sally and her sweet baby Daye came and we all spent some time together. We ate and browsed and found so many cute, cute outfits for Daye. We only bought 2 outfits though, and Sally was experiencing some serious buyer's remorse even thought she only spent 16.00. So, I had to talk her through it and she ended up keeping the cutest tutu for Daye that I have ever seen in my entire life. Here is a picture of the doll baby in it: I

Piece of Truth

Last week, I had Psalm 103 in my devotion reading. I am sure I had read the Psalm before, but as I read it in the midst of a current trial, it meant so much to me. It is a picture of rejoicing in what the Lord has done for us and how much He GIVES. I thought it may bring a few of you a word of hope and wanted to share. This isn't the chapter in it's entirety...just a few of my favorite verses. You can always look up the few pieces I have left out here... PSALM 103 "Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all you sins and heals all you diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.... The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquites. For as high as

Turtle Babies

I think I have mentioned on the blog before how much my mom LOVES sea turtles. She has a slight obsession. Anyway, a couple of years ago she discovered a group called S.C.U.T.E. that basically is a group of volunteers in South Carolina that goes out each day, looks for turtle nests and then watches for the turtles to hatch. SCUTE stands for South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts. They have a facebook page that they use to tell you where nests are that have been laid, when they are hatching or have hatched and allow you to be a part of it. After the mama turtle lays the nest, the volunteers place protection around it and it basically sits for about 55-60 days. It looks like this after they finish their work: Another cool fact is that the eggs are laid gender-neutral and the temperature of the sand determines their sex. Boys are in the cool sand..."cool guys" and the females are in the hotter sand..."hot females". Anyway, after the little turtles hatch, the volun
