Scripture Memory

As most of you know, I love love love Beth Moore. I love following her blog and I love how she helps me understand the Bible. She is all about some scripture memory, which is something that I want to be all about as well. On her blog  for the new year, she has helped start a system to help us memorize 2 scriptures per month. You are supposed to get a notebook and write a scripture down on the first and fifteenth of the month to think on and memorize for the month. Another great addition that she has added is a "notebook" for scripture memory for the IPad or IPhone. If you have one of those devices, check out her blog here: http://blog.lproof.org/2011/01/a-siesta-hello-and-a-happy-smt-update.html There you can download the app and watch the video tutorial for how to add your scriptures and start memorizing. I have started the process a little late...just downloaded the app, though, and late is better than never :) So here is my first verse for the month of January, 1 Joh

Couldn't Be Prouder

I have talked about my sweet granddaddy before on my blog. He has been a wonderful influence in my life. He was diagnosed about a year ago with lung cancer, which has really taken a toll on him lately. It makes me so sad to see him not able to experience life to the fullest like he always has before. My sister, Elizabeth, pointed me to this article in my home paper about him that came out this week... Check it out here: http://clarendoncitizen.com/article/scott-jackson . I am so proud to be his granddaughter. He has taught me the value of hard work, honesty, perseverance and just being a good person. He has taught me about the Lord, the importance of family and the way to truly love others by giving what you have to give. Just wanted to feature him today on my blog to tell the cyber world how proud I am of "Daddy Scott"!!

Update

Well, it has been a while since I posted last and thought you may need an update. I have been sick with a nasty flu-bronchitis combo. It is the sickest I have been in a long time.....slept on the couch for 3 days straight and had fever. I couldn't remember if I had ever had fever in my entire life before then!! I am on medicine and feeling a little better, but still not 100%. Ryan was the best during my sickness. He was such the knight in shining armor. He was tending to my needs, cleaning up after me and brushing my hair back from my forehead. My love grew so much in those moments watching him care for me so much. It made my heart happy while my body was sick. I told him I was so sorry for having to put up with all of it and he responded with, "In sickness and in health". I know...cheesy, but so sweet and kind at the same time. And, of course, now he is sick! It is a huge snowstorm here, so Scout and I have been inside the last few days trying to brave the storm. Rya

Chick-fil-a Bowl Ringin' in the New Year!

Ryan was given tickets to the Chick-fil-a bowl for Christmas by my parents. The game was at the Georgia Dome yesterday, New Year's Eve, and featured the South Carolina Gamecocks versus the Florida State Seminoles. The game was a bust because our best player got hurt and we lost, but we still had a fun adventure. We stayed in Decatur, Georgia which was a little north of Atlanta. We took the Marta, which actually dropped us off right at the stadium. There were tons of other fans riding the trains with us. The Georgia Dome is pretty awesome....here are some pictures.... Ryan cheering on the Gamecocks! Before the game started, they released all of these parachutes with Chick-fil-a coupons attached and they floated down to the seats. We didn't get one, but it looked awesome. Gamecocks about to run out at the start of the game I loved this cow and his blimp that was riding around the stadium Ryan and I in our garnet supporting Carolina Our free stuffed cow fell over in R
