Christmas Celebrations

We had a truly wonderful Christmas this year! We were able to celebrate with both families this year. We began our family time last week when we went to the Reeses to spend time and exchange gifts.

Cory and Ashley gave me a Bieber poster!!

Grandmama and Granddaddy....how cute!!

We went to Manning last Wednesday night and stayed there through the holidays. It was great because my brother, Quin, and his family were there with us, too. All in all, there were 10 of us sleeping at my house in Manning with two nights of 12 people when my nieces and nephews stayed over. I have 6 nieces and nephews ranging from ages 11 to 2....it was pretty wild when we were all together!!

Ryan went hunting on Thursday night and got his first deer....ever!! My stepdad was the only one with him and helped him get the deer loaded up to take to get processed. Then, he had to bloody Ryan up because it was his first deer. I have never been a real big fan of venison, but I better acquire a taste for it because we will be getting about 5 different cuts of meat from this deer!! Ryan was so proud!

Ryan in his hunting gear...notice the bloody streak on the side of his face

Ryan and my nephew, Acie. Acie is pretty much obsessed with blood for some reason, so he thought Ryan with the blood on his face was pretty much the coolest thing ever

Ryan and I after the hunt

Ryan had about 2 minutes to get cleaned up to go to my sisters to see my daddy and his wife, Kim, and celebrate Christmas with them. We had a great dinner together, were entertained by the kids and then opened some gifts. Dad and Kim gave us all hoodies, so we had to take some snapshots wearing our new gear.

Quin wears this hat every Christmas when he hands out gifts

All of us sporting the new hoodies

Ryan, Angie and I had all done a P90X workout together Thursday morning and thought it would be funny to do some poses from our workout in our hoodies

I scare myself a little in this picture

The boys and me

Friday was Christmas Eve. My sister came over to my mom's house around 11 so we could spend some time and open our gifts to and from one another. My stepdad gave us IPads....awesome! I absolutely love it!!! I have already started reading books on it!

Admiring the new IPad

After some quality family time, we went over to my grandmother's to meet the whole family for dinner. It was great being with everyone. My granddad has lung cancer and was struggling at times, but it was an incredibly sweet time of us all being together for the holiday.

Mama with her boys...she was in heaven....she won't admit it, but the boys are really her favorite!!

Mae Harmon got this dog as a gift. She actually tore up some styrofoam into little pieces and was trying to feed the dog...I got so cracked up!

The kids doing a funny picture

Elizabeth's new hat she got from Eadie...haha...this picture makes me laugh!!

Christmas morning we woke up and Ryan and I exchanged gifts with each other and checked out presents from Santa :) Then, mom had the family over for Christmas brunch. We ended up spending the day just hanging out, resting and watching old movies....it was great!

Ryan and Mae playing...I think this picture is so cute

Sweet little Mae with her aunt "B" (that's what my nieces and nephews call me)

I hope you all had a great Christmas! I am sad that it is over and I have to take down all my decorations. I am keeping them up and enjoying them for just one more week because I love them so much!!

10 things...

I am such a copy-cat today, but I love this idea! My favorite, Beth Moore, started this on her blog,  and then I noticed my girls, Alyssa and Kathyrn did it on their blogs too. I am learning so many new things about people and, naturally, I need to do it now! Here are the directions: What are 10 things - right off the top of your head - that we would only know about you if we knew you really well? 10 random things ranging anywhere on your personal map that make you a tad distinctive? Or just plain weird? Think quickly. Don't go for deep. Go for quirky. Don't try to put them in any kind of order and don't make them long. Just start typing. Since this is the Reese blog, I will attempt to do it for both of Ryan and myself.... Anna: 1. I hate to shave. Freshman year of college, I only shaved once a week and my friends and people I worked with tried to straighten me out with weekly "armpit checks"...sick, but true. 2. I love zits, abscesses, blood blisters---an...

Miracle!!

Ryan and I are so so thankful and excited to make the announcement that we are having a baby! Right now, I have just finished up the first trimester. The baby is almost 15 weeks old. We actually get to find out the gender in a couple of weeks, which is so exciting! It has been such a wonderful time. The Lord has truly blessed us with this miracle. Through this process, the thing that I have been thinking the most of in my heart is that the Lord is good. I don't know why this truth is sometimes hard for me to soak in. Life is hard and trials happen- this is so true and the trials do not make God any less good. However, sometimes, the Lord just gives to His children. I find it so crazy that I am resistant to believe this at times, but I always look at the toughest or hardest outcome in a situation and assume that it will happen. However, through this, I have been reminded that although the Lord allows hard things to happen at times to shape and define us, He does good things a...

Praises!!!!

I found out this morning that I passed the board exam! I am beyond thankful for this blessing. All the time I was studying I was in a cloud of doubt...wondering if the PA profession was right for me, what would I do if I failed, how was I ever going to get through it? But, this process brought me to my knees in new ways. I prayed each day for His strength to bring His work to completion. This was the verse that I would repeat throughout the days of studying and it is so special to me: "You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great." -Psalm 18:35 The Lord answers prayer. This small prayer about helping give me success with the boards to bigger prayers about salvation for our loved ones and healing for those who are sick. We serve a God who hears us....HOW AMAZING!! He stoops down to uphold us in His right hand. Trust in Him today, friends. He IS surely big enough for anything you can lay at His feet. He hears you an...
