Around the House Shower for M & B

We had an Around the House shower for Matt & Brittany last weekend. It was a couples shower thrown with love by family and friends. It was a great thing because all of the Powdersville and Greenville peeps were able to attend and shower Matt and Britt with gifts and love. We had it at a cool spot in Powdersville/Easley called Taste of Distinction. They did all the catering for us and made a wonderful meal of BBQ! Matt and Britt got tons of wonderful gifts for different rooms in their future home. Everyone had fun and it turned out to be a wonderful shower. The only bad part of the entire thing was that Ryan was out of town, but we still had a fun time.

Fall is just about the best season to decorate. The beautiful colors make for gorgeous arrangements. Ashley and I had seen some great ideas from Pinterest (if you aren't a member....you need to sign up...best website EVER). We thought it turned out pretty cute;)

10 things...

I am such a copy-cat today, but I love this idea! My favorite, Beth Moore, started this on her blog,  and then I noticed my girls, Alyssa and Kathyrn did it on their blogs too. I am learning so many new things about people and, naturally, I need to do it now! Here are the directions: What are 10 things - right off the top of your head - that we would only know about you if we knew you really well? 10 random things ranging anywhere on your personal map that make you a tad distinctive? Or just plain weird? Think quickly. Don't go for deep. Go for quirky. Don't try to put them in any kind of order and don't make them long. Just start typing. Since this is the Reese blog, I will attempt to do it for both of Ryan and myself.... Anna: 1. I hate to shave. Freshman year of college, I only shaved once a week and my friends and people I worked with tried to straighten me out with weekly "armpit checks"...sick, but true. 2. I love zits, abscesses, blood blisters---an...

Miracle!!

Ryan and I are so so thankful and excited to make the announcement that we are having a baby! Right now, I have just finished up the first trimester. The baby is almost 15 weeks old. We actually get to find out the gender in a couple of weeks, which is so exciting! It has been such a wonderful time. The Lord has truly blessed us with this miracle. Through this process, the thing that I have been thinking the most of in my heart is that the Lord is good. I don't know why this truth is sometimes hard for me to soak in. Life is hard and trials happen- this is so true and the trials do not make God any less good. However, sometimes, the Lord just gives to His children. I find it so crazy that I am resistant to believe this at times, but I always look at the toughest or hardest outcome in a situation and assume that it will happen. However, through this, I have been reminded that although the Lord allows hard things to happen at times to shape and define us, He does good things a...

Praises!!!!

I found out this morning that I passed the board exam! I am beyond thankful for this blessing. All the time I was studying I was in a cloud of doubt...wondering if the PA profession was right for me, what would I do if I failed, how was I ever going to get through it? But, this process brought me to my knees in new ways. I prayed each day for His strength to bring His work to completion. This was the verse that I would repeat throughout the days of studying and it is so special to me: "You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great." -Psalm 18:35 The Lord answers prayer. This small prayer about helping give me success with the boards to bigger prayers about salvation for our loved ones and healing for those who are sick. We serve a God who hears us....HOW AMAZING!! He stoops down to uphold us in His right hand. Trust in Him today, friends. He IS surely big enough for anything you can lay at His feet. He hears you an...
