A Rock...Seriously??!!

Scout went to stay in Greenville starting last Thursday with Mr. Mike and Ms. Cindy because Ryan and I were both going to be out of town this week. We got a call Sunday night that he was in the emergency vet clinic because he had been vomiting and acting really sick.  Come to find out....he had an intestinal obstruction from a rock.

Scout loves to EAT!!!!  He always acts like he is famished, even though he eats a whoppin' 4 cups of food a day!  In the yard or on walks, he will try to eat everything- sticks, berries, leaves, ivy....you name it.  He has chewed on rocks before, but never eaten any....how good could it taste, anyway?

He is doing okay now and hopefully will pass the blasted rock any minute.  We opted to not have surgery so we are really hoping Scout will pull through.  Ryan's parents have done a great job helping him through this and I am sure, have lost lots of sleep....thanks, guys!

So, here is to praying  that Scout will get well soon.  I guess we will have to remove all the rocks out of the yard from now on......

10 things...

I am such a copy-cat today, but I love this idea! My favorite, Beth Moore, started this on her blog,  and then I noticed my girls, Alyssa and Kathyrn did it on their blogs too. I am learning so many new things about people and, naturally, I need to do it now! Here are the directions: What are 10 things - right off the top of your head - that we would only know about you if we knew you really well? 10 random things ranging anywhere on your personal map that make you a tad distinctive? Or just plain weird? Think quickly. Don't go for deep. Go for quirky. Don't try to put them in any kind of order and don't make them long. Just start typing. Since this is the Reese blog, I will attempt to do it for both of Ryan and myself.... Anna: 1. I hate to shave. Freshman year of college, I only shaved once a week and my friends and people I worked with tried to straighten me out with weekly "armpit checks"...sick, but true. 2. I love zits, abscesses, blood blisters---an...

Miracle!!

Ryan and I are so so thankful and excited to make the announcement that we are having a baby! Right now, I have just finished up the first trimester. The baby is almost 15 weeks old. We actually get to find out the gender in a couple of weeks, which is so exciting! It has been such a wonderful time. The Lord has truly blessed us with this miracle. Through this process, the thing that I have been thinking the most of in my heart is that the Lord is good. I don't know why this truth is sometimes hard for me to soak in. Life is hard and trials happen- this is so true and the trials do not make God any less good. However, sometimes, the Lord just gives to His children. I find it so crazy that I am resistant to believe this at times, but I always look at the toughest or hardest outcome in a situation and assume that it will happen. However, through this, I have been reminded that although the Lord allows hard things to happen at times to shape and define us, He does good things a...

Praises!!!!

I found out this morning that I passed the board exam! I am beyond thankful for this blessing. All the time I was studying I was in a cloud of doubt...wondering if the PA profession was right for me, what would I do if I failed, how was I ever going to get through it? But, this process brought me to my knees in new ways. I prayed each day for His strength to bring His work to completion. This was the verse that I would repeat throughout the days of studying and it is so special to me: "You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great." -Psalm 18:35 The Lord answers prayer. This small prayer about helping give me success with the boards to bigger prayers about salvation for our loved ones and healing for those who are sick. We serve a God who hears us....HOW AMAZING!! He stoops down to uphold us in His right hand. Trust in Him today, friends. He IS surely big enough for anything you can lay at His feet. He hears you an...
